| This is the R22 Helicopter from which I took the photos over Fresno. Bjorn Beijens, an experienced flying instructor, did a fantastic job of positioning us according to my requests, all the time working with the airport tower who cooperated wonderfully.
Fresno has more air traffic than most folk might be aware of, so communication with the tower was constant during this flight around Fresno.

| It didn't take long to load the requested fuel, and I was really impressed with the efficient way this was handled.

| As with all flights, there is a pre-flight check of the aircraft, and Bjorn wasn't missing a beat. He has flown helicopters in his teens, and enjoys some unique jobs such as flights for shooting films. His main job, however, is as instructor for the Mazzei Flying School that is based at Fresno Airport.

| Looking from above, the Fresno Air Terminal appears as a relatively small part of the airport.
I fly out of Fresno quite often, and the modernized terminal is impressive compared with what used to be, but I was surprised at the space there is all around it. Plenty of room for expansion by the looks of it.

| Almost next to the airport is one of Gallo's wineries. I live in Atwater which is close to Livingston where Gallo's have their largest winery. Until recently, I never knew of this one in Fresno, but it is understandable when one considers the importance that grapes hold in this part of the Valley.

| We were flying to take a photo or two of the new city hall. This is the first of the pictures that shows the limited range due to the smog.
This, by the way, isn't bad compared to what I have seen, but it prevents me from shooting the long distances.
Here you see the back side of fresno City Hall
